The Bay Area Youth Fly Fishers is a collaborative partnership of local angling & casting clubs and conservation organizations dedicated to enabling a new generation of fly fishers and conservation minded youth.
Kids ages 9-12 years old are invited to an introduction to fly fishing at The Oakland Casting Club pools in McCrea Memorial Park in the Oakland hills. This event is aimed at drawing families who value fun learning activities for their children and grandchildren that reward patience and practice. Kids will learn about Casting & Equipment, Knots & Rigging, and Conservation – important skills and knowledge they’ll need to fish with family, friends, mentors and fishing guides.
All equipment and materials will be provided for the Youth Participants.
Additional Bay Area Youth Events will be scheduled in 2019 to reinforce accomplishments and skills progression.
Please Note: All BAYFF sponsored learning sessions, require full-time adult parent or guardian supervision and the signing of liability and photo release forms in advance, through registration on EventBrite.
